"Fastest Firefox ever" is barely half as fast as Safari

Mozilla’s new marketing campaign for Firefox 3.5 claims it’s two times faster than Firefox 3.0 and ten times faster than 2.0. The carefully worded marketing says it’s the fastest Firefox ever. But how fast is it really?
Results from the Peacekeeper browser benchmark show that Firefox 3.5 beta is barely half as fast as Safari 4 beta and about two thirds as fast as the latest Chrome 2.0. And in an added blow, it looks like Opera 10 beta, just released today, might also be faster by a whisker.
