err mine comes from Halo .. , when I used to play offline i used name all my chars "Slayer" but i found it taken when i started playing online. Also my steam handle 'itchnscratchy" is from Simpsons .
I think at the time I wanted a serious name that sounded odd so you couldn't take it seriously. So I used Mr. for my prefix and that would be the serious and respectable part, then randomly I added Twiggy. Combined you get the odd name MrTwiggy and it's stuck since high school.
Actually, the way it really stuck is when I told a friend freshman year on halloween (we didn't have costumes) that he could be Captain Obese and I his trusty sidekick MrTwiggy (cuz I'm pretty skinny) and we'd fight crime like eating at the dinner table!
I don't know, I'm still waiting for someone to make a comic book series on it, haha.
Mine goes a long way. Sometime 7-8 years ago I was studying buddha religion for my own amusement, I bumped into the "guardian", Nirrti. I decided "hey, thats a nice name, I'll use it".
And so, my nick was born.
My alternative nick comes from the game Star Control 2 (Or Ur-Quan Masters as the remake is known), from the species called "Ilwrath".
My nickname back in the day was MadMax (from the movies) but with time it became Max because it was easyer to say. Since Max is taken on all the forums, it evolved in UpMax wich is available all the time
