Is there any politician you look up to ?
I´m just wondering, is their any politician (no matter if dead or alive), that in some way touched you, someone that made you look up to him/her and think this person is making or made a difference ?
/might belong in the politics sector
For me it must have ben Ghandi,
A true legend imo, a man that changed the word with his silent resistance.
It´s very sad to know that he was one of a kind.

Winston Churchill, despite the fact he's dead and all.

Vaclav Havel
Nelson Mandela
Both have issues, I know, but the things they have supported and fought for do overcome their human faults.

Re: Is there any politician you look up to ?
I actually thought Bob Dole was quite an awesome guy. I heard him speak a few times and saw him a lot being he was from Kansas and all.
I really respected him a lot. He was a really interesting person.
I could have picked someone more famous, but, I would rather look up to people I have met in person. I dunno, I am weird like that I suppose.

Yeah, Bob Dole was on my mind when I read the thread title. I really liked Ronald Reagan too.
Did you ever see the episode of Saturday Night Live where Norm MacDonald played Bob Dole, and Bob Dole was living in an apartment with all of the kids from "The Real World"? That was comical...

Oh yeah. Man, Bob Dole is hilarious. I remember seeing him on Letterman and his wife had just had a cast put on her wrist, and Letterman was making a joke that he beat her. And Dole said, "Well, you know I've been using that Viagara, and, I just got a little too excited with her..."
Holy crap, everyone didn't expect this old geezer looking dude to make a joke like that and I fell out of my chair.
