I really like the idea, but would have a concern on the security of the trade. How exactly does that work, where both the seller and buyer are protected? Does it rely somehow on "known" status?

It would be nice if there were some way for an auction site to require a duel ok. Here is my idea, the money goes into some type of hold account where the seller cannot get to the money but can see that it is on hold, whereas the buyer cannot get the money back but can prove that the money has been paid. The seller sends the item, and when the buyer receives the item and confirms that it is in advertised condition releases the hold and the buyer gets their money... on the flip side, if the item is not in correct condition the seller sends it back, buyer confirms recipt and money is back in seller bank. Sure, it still relies on an "honor" system, but it puts enough barriers to lower the scamfests.

Useful idea but the best thing about ebay in the earlier days, imo, was picking up stuff at a steal because most folk didn't know what it was or could do.

Like this e7300 I'm running just now, got that off ebay for £51!

I think on a site like OC bay full of people that know what they are doing it will be hard to get a bargain

just saying

I wouldn't say that, you forget that this also means a good supply of parts because the lack of fees and an audience that is interested in them attracts sellers.

Also sometimes people are looking for just an old mobo or CPU to fix a system, which brings me to an idea: Where is the "looking for" section, working like a reverse auction?

@chris0288
When an overclocker wants to get rid of his parts he always want to do it immediately. So always he is selling cheap ;) Trust me! I know how it is! I've lost a lot of money the last decade...

Hi again,

You may have noticed in the past that the currency converter wasn't working properly.This was because i had to update the currency table manual from admin panel! Yesterday i installed a mod for doing this automatic based on xe.com

Enjoy :D

Ps. Is this a steal or what?
