The Force Unleashed PC System Requirements

Looks like every holiday release is now rolling out their system requirements. The Force Unleashed: Sith Edition will include two DLC packs, one previously seen on the consoles, one all new featuring Hoth. To run this all on a PC, here is what you need.

Minimum System Requirements

  • Operating System: Windows XP SP3, Windows Vista SP2. Windows 7
  • CPU Processor: 2.4 GHz Dual Core Processor (Intel Core 2 Duo or AMD Athlon X2)
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM
  • Hard Disk Space: 23.8 GB + 1 GB Swap File
  • Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c compatible sound card
  • Video Card: 3D Hardware Accelerator Card Required - 100% DirectX 9.0c compatible 256 MB Video Memory with Shader 3.0 support
  • Video Card (ATI): Radeon HD 2900
  • Video Card (Nvidia): Geforce 8800
  • Media Required: 8X DVD-ROM drive
  • Windows XP/Vista compatible mouse and keyboard or Microsoft Xbox 360 Wired Controller

This product does not support Windows 95/98/ME/2000/NT.

Recommended System Requirements

  • Intel Core 2 Duo 2.8 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 Dual-Core 5200+
  • 512 MB 3D Hardware Accelerator Card
  • Video Card (ATI): Radeon HD 4870
  • Video Card (Nvidia): Geforce 9800 GT
  • Memory: 2 GB RAM

how come the ps3 and 360 have 5 year old hardware and the pc needs 2 year old hardware to run the same game?

Yeah mostly.. but the console ports that have enhanced graphics in PC always require a lot it seems..compared to games made just for PC. I guess when they design game for PC from scratch, it is easier to make it run better and look good at the same time. dunno.

What's funny is that LA said not too long ago(close to console release time) that it was too demanding for the PC

Not necessarily, but it will look generations better than any console could have hoped to make it.

that's just a typical comp out not to do the development. They could have had the same crappy 1024x768 resolutions with no frills and had it scale all the way up to the highest resolutions possible with AA /AF shadows blah blah but its just easier to do it for a console you have a set bracket you have to work in. PCs to be successful you have to cater to the low end pcs and the high end. Just laziness really.
