The revival of the Alone in the Dark series promises great things - "Immersive presentation, multiple gameplay aspects, breathtaking cinematics that blend seamlessly with the gameplay". Sugar-coated PR-speak often bends the truth in creative ways, but in this case, nothing can prepare you for the horror that Eden Games and Atari have created.

Funcom's mega-MMO Age of Conan has now been out for a couple of weeks, and it's time to say something definite about it - and give out that ever-important score. Age of Conan starts out fine as the early parts of the game received tons of last-minute polish for the launch, but once you get into the proper game... what lies beyond the newbie lands?

Simple game ideas are often the best ones, and when you combine a simple idea with pixel-perfect implementation, you have a great game. Trials 2: Second Edition is a textbook example of a simple, skill-intensive game idea polished to perfection and married with pretty high-tech visuals. Do you have the driving skills to take on the insane tracks of Trials 2: Second Edition?

Altair's back-stabbing adventures received a decisively mixed response on the consoles. Assassin's Creed managed to look nice and present some fairly advanced engine technology, but the underlying gameplay left people wanting for more. The much-delayed PC version has finally arrived, complete with "Director's Cut Edition" branding. So, is it something worth checking out, or do we have Yet Another Botched Ubisoft Console Port in our hands?

RTS games are almost as old as the beige box itself, so most new games in the genre wisely tend to offer little in the way of blazing innovation. Petroglyph have followed suit with Universe at War: Earth Assault but they've stuffed a few trick cards up their sleeves. Not least is the fact that humans no longer save the day!
