Mass Effect was always envisioned to be a trilogy and the story of Commander Shepard continues with Mass Effect 2. Bioware is well known for their RPG formula, but this time they have bravely gone ahead and tweaked the gameplay quite a bit - so much, that some have already cried that Mass Effect 2 isn't a role playing game at all. I humbly disagree, but it is true that the second part of the story relies a lot more on action and combat.

The first Left 4 Dead practically redefined the co-op multiplayer shooter genre with a refreshingly original take on the idea and offering tons of hilarious fun when trying to survive a zombie apocalypse. A year has passed - a shockingly short period of time for Valve - and we have a sequel. New survivors, new weapons, new enemies, new places but still the same zombie apocalypse in Left 4 Dead 2.

Adventure, excitement, politics, drama and even some intimate relationships - all trademarked bits of Bioware RPGs are here and this time PC gamers do not have to suffer with a console UI.
So, how does it look and play?

Back in the days when 3D was primitive and polygons were something no gaming system could really shift around, 2D platformers were all the rage. These days you see them usually as remakes of old arcade classics or as re-releases on the Wii Virtual Console. Not any more. Trine takes the old concept, tosses in some PhysX-based physics, illustrates everything with brilliant art and shows how good a mere "2D-platformer" can be.
