MMO genre has seen some rough launches and spectacular failures in the recent years, with some games lasting less than two years before the publisher pulled the plug. With a string of epic failures like Matrix Online, Tabula Rasa and Auto Assault, just to name a few, gamers are understandably nervous. Cryptic has built a track record with superhero MMOs but their latest release, Champions Online, was somewhat underwhelming. Now they attempt to go where no MMO has gone before with Star Trek Online.

So don't miss out! :D Hot off the presses, LucasArts and TT Games have officially announced the development of LEGO Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, the next installment in their popular Action-Adventure series. Due out in Fall 2010, the game will include five all-new battle modes, along with various new abilities like Squad command, Lightsaber slicing, Lightsaber jumps, long distance Jedi attacks and Grapple Tie-Ups. Here's a little snippet from the PR: "LucasArts continues to set the bar for next-generation family entertainment," said Darrell Rodriguez, president of LucasArts. "The LEGOŽ Star Wars franchise is a massive hit with fans, bringing in sales of over 20 million units worldwide. Were thrilled to extend this experience to LEGOŽ Star Wars III: The Clone Wars, delivering the humor and fun players expect from this award winning franchise." "LucasArts is an amazing partner, and working with them on the next iteration of the LEGOŽ Star Wars series continues to be a great experience," said Tom Stone, director at TT Games. "The team at TT is working hard at making this simply the best LEGOŽ game ever with all new gameplay and features never before seen in a LEGOŽ game." It's amazing how quickly they churn out these LEGO games. :x Futuremark Games Studio has been keeping busy tinkering up new maps for Shattered Horizon and today they released the first batch of images from the new maps of the upcoming "Moonrise" free content pack. Official Press Release says: "The four Moonrise levels are set around the shattered Moon, taking the fight deeper into space and showing a new side to the conflict. The screenshots released today show hints of exotic new locations: an MMC cargo ship lured into a trap by the ISA, a huge mass driver installation, the broken remains of a luxury lunar hotel and fragments of what was a massive communications dish on the Moon. Although a release date for the Moonrise pack has not yet been announced, Futuremark Games Studio confirmed that a small group of selected players is helping them test near-final content. " A new patch is also scheduled to arrive soon to fix some outstanding issues and introduce voice chat to the game. Keeping things interesting this weekend, Avalanche Studios have released a brand new teaser trailer from their upcoming open-world Action title, Just Cause 2. Clocking in at just under two minutes long, the video gives us a quick look at the "go anywhere" gameplay, the different ways you can approach missions and the advantages of a grappling hook. Check it out after the jump: According to a report at MTV Multiplayer this afternoon, Sega and Obsidian Entertainment's upcoming spy-themed RPG, Alpha Protocol, has been delayed yet again in order to add some extra polish and better position the game's launch. Previously scheduled for release in Spring 2010, Alpha Protocol is now expected to ship sometime this Summer. No word on an exact day, but we'll be sure to keep you posted! Wrapping things up tonight, BioWare has cooked up a fresh batch of screenshots from their highly anticipated Dragon Age: Origins - Awakening expansion pack. These latest screenies give us a sneak peek at "The Children", one of the new monsters you'll be fighting.
